Welcome back to another Sunday Poser
This week my question is;
Are you superstitious?
I feel that we all are superstitious to some degree. Some people are more superstitious while others are less!
Am I superstitious?
Do I believe saying something before it’s accomplished may jinx it? Or do I touch wood when I wish something would stay good, or perhaps cross my fingers when wishing for something?
The answer is yes, sometimes I do all or some of these. Not because I feel that not doing or saying something would change the outcome of events, but because we are socially conditioned to do these things.
However, I am never influenced by a black cat crossing my path, or broken mirror. Walking under a ladder does not affect my thinking and walking on the cracks in the pavement either. Perhaps because these things are not a part of my culture.
However, we do say “Inshaa’Allah” when wishing for something good to happen or resolving to do something on the morrow. This is part of our Muslim culture and Muslims everywhere say it. It means “ If Allah ( God) desires it so”
Are you superstitious? And do you do or avoid certain actions due to it?
Please share your thoughts in the comments section or you can write your own post and link it to this one so that I can find it.
As usual, thanks of visiting and reading.
